I am Lyn Schroeder. I have a doctorate in Theology and am a Reiki Master/Teacher. Reiki is a Japanese technique to release stress, tension, and create relaxation by transferring positive energy from the practitioner to the client.
It is a positive alternative healing modality. This technique is a laying on of hands or a laying off of hands. When you put your hands above the body, it is just as strong as putting them on the body.
It is different from a massage because a Reiki practitioner is not manipulating your body; they are manipulating the energy centers in the body.
Woman seeks to direct positive energy
To begin with, I learned an alternative healing modality similar to Reiki called LaHo-Chi and soon found that nobody knew anything about it. I found it to be a positive technique and since Reiki Masters channeled it in, I thought Reiki should be my next step. I took first and second-degree Reiki, and did not go any further until I quit working at Boeing-Rocketdyne inCalifornia.
To be certified as a Reiki Master / Teacher, it is required that you go through four different levels and are attuned to Reiki. When you reach Reiki Mastery, you become a Reiki Master / Teacher.
Most Reiki clients who come for sessions are stressed. Occasionally, I combine the practices of Reiki with hypnosis. After a hypnosis session, then I have them lay on the Reiki table while I administer Reiki to relax them and align their chakras. Some people are so stressed from their jobs and other personal problems that they just need some kind of relief.
Since I found that people always feel great when they come out of a session, I decided to teach Reiki so that people could apply self-healing techniques. That is when I became a Reiki Master / Teacher.
I started getting a few people interested. Then a student of mine, who has become my friend, recommended me to do a class teaching Reiki Level I and II in Chappell Hill. The group consisted of nine students. I have six regular students who attend my classes in Georgetown. The other classes I teach besides Reiki are Inner Child, How to Make Crystal Grids, Basic and Advanced Crystal Energy, Basic Meditation, etc. It is basically all energy work – just different chapters.
I also teach
about chakras in my classes, which are the energy centers that we work with every day and they help us. For example, our throat chakra helps us with communication and if that were blocked, then you would want to work mainly with that chakra to unblock it.
You can scan a person’s body for blockages with a pendulum and when you get adept at that, you can use your hands for scanning for blockages. By scanning, you can see where there is a change in the energy flow and where there is a change – that is the chakra the Reiki practitioner should work with to bring it back into sync.
The chakras are not actually blocked or closed as we think of it. It is just that the people generally have something negative going on in their life and it needs to be turned into a positive.
The crystals are actually alive and each one has a certain property that they give off – such as amethyst helps you with your spiritual side. If you want to bring change into your life, you use aquamarine or a turquoise stone, things like that.
You can use a red stone at the root chakra, the navel chakra is normally an orange stone of some kind and then the solar plexus chakra, which always needs protection, uses a yellow stone.
With the heart, you work with pink and green stones and the throat is usually blue lace agate. For the third eye or the brow chakra, you use an indigo stone, and for the crown chakra, you can use a white or violet stone, such as amethyst or clear quartz. You can use other stones but they have to be in those colors.
When you are doing a Reiki or crystal energy session, placing crystals on the body for each chakra helps to balance them
Placing the crystals on the body while doing some energy work with the Reiki will help to unblock the chakra bringing it back to its natural energy. Therefore, I use crystals to help the client regain his or her natural energy.
The crystal promotes positive energy into the area of the body and helps to remove any negative energy the person might have.
I feel like I am helping people when I give a session and also I like to teach. I never thought I would want to teach. However, some of my friends wanted to learn what I had already learned inCalifornia, so I started with just a small group to teach Reiki.
Moreover, to satisfy my writing and editing skills, I can create my own manuals for all my classes. In this way, I am able to use my other talents, such as my writing and graphic art skills when creating my class manuals with my energy healing work. Moreover, I am using my right and left brain at the same time, which keeps me balanced.
